E.W.Y.L. is a mentoring program designed to equip women and families with the necessary education to have healthy pregnancies and to empower them to be successful parents. Who teaches EWYL? EWYL is conducted by other mom’s in a one on one setting. This provides a safe and relaxed environment where you can share your fears and concerns. When and where do EWYL classes meet? The EWYL program is designed to meet when you are available. The times are set up by you with your mentor. You will meet at Stillwater Life Services located at 1002. N. Duck ST. What does EWYL offer? EWYL offers practical information on pregnancy and the early stages of parenting. Some of the topics include: the different stages of pregnancy, nutrition, bonding with your unborn child, how to prepare for baby, bonding with your newborn, child safety and much more. EWYL also offers a way for you to earn points used to shop for needed items in our Mommy Market. Bridges to Parenthood What is Bridges? Bridges is a caring support group that focuses on spiritual growth. Who leads Bridges? You do…but people experienced with related topics will facilitate the classes. When and where do Bridges classes meet? Times, days and locations for this class may vary. What does Bridges offer? Bridges provides a relaxed environment in which you can explore many topics which include but are not limited to: Living Successfully Single, Biblical Parenting, Basic Discipleship, Relationship Building for Couples, and much more. Bridges also provides free child care and transportation for anyone who needs it. You must call ahead to reserve your spots for child care and to make arrangements for transportation. In addition, Bridges provides a way for you to earn points that can be used towards shopping in the SLS Mommy Market. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. What is R.E.S.P.E.C.T.? To learn and to love who you are: The RESPECT program believes that you are unique and made for a purpose. Our mission is to guide you in developing your attitudes and actions as you discover your value. Who leads R.E.S.P.E.C.T. classes? Trained volunteers who desire to guide you to a place where you are living a life with sexual integrity. When and Where does R.E.S.P.E.C.T. classes meet? Times, days and locations may vary. The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program offers classes designed to help move you a little closer to knowing who you are as an individual and how to build healthy relationships by targeting the five aspects of self. The five aspects of self are: physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual. The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program will help you in the following areas: Why should I get involved? • Find love for a lifetime • Encouragement • Friendship • Support • Personal growth • Find purpose and destiny • Healing and worth • Tools to build healthy relationships Classes are as follows: 1. “Steps to Sexual Health” Our sexual choices outside the context of marriage can be very devastating for all involved. Dr. Douglass Weiss is a leading expert on sexual trauma, brokenness, and abuse. This video series is a comprehensive approach for dealing with sexual trauma, abuse and misuse. It is time to break the chains of sexual misuse and walk out our sexuality with success. 2. “Blueprint for Sexual Integrity” Marriage is a positive celebration of human love and sexuality. For this reason, the blueprint for sexual integrity focuses on the benefits of marriage, resulting in a strong foundation with the covenant protection for future children. This powerful series depicts the beauty of marriage at its origin of creation. 3. “Finding Peace: A Guide to Happiness, Freedom, and Wholeness” Happiness, peace and wholeness are something all people want to achieve. This series shows the steps to obtain the highest level of wholeness. It shows viewers a picture of their own hearts and of what they truly long for and guides them on the journey toward true happiness. Childbirth Instruction and Preparation Class What is the Childbirth Class? The Childbirth Preparation class is designed to educate the expectant mom and her labor support person with information necessary to make positive informed decisions during the birth process. Who leads the Childbirth Class? The childbirth class is led by someone trained and educated in childbirth preparation. When and where are Childbirth classes held? The Childbirth class is held during the following months: February, April, June, August, October, and December. The class is held in two parts, usually on two Saturdays during those months. The times, dates and locations of classes may vary. What does Childbirth Preparation offer? Some topics covered in this class include: Informed consent, patient rights, medical interventions, stages of labor, coping and relaxation techniques, labor massage, labor positions, and much more. The class also includes making your own personalized birth plan and whether having a doula is right for you. Passages What is Passages? Passages is a support group for individuals seeking healing and understanding from an abortion. Who leads Passages? Passages is led by sensitive trained individuals who desire you to find complete healing from your pain so that you can be fully restored and walk in the wholeness available to you. When and Where does Passages meet? The staff and volunteers at SLS understand the importance of your need for confidentiality. Because of this the times, days, and locations are not posted. Passages offers a loving and confidential support system to openly discuss the feelings and consequences of this life-changing decision. The material includes a scripturally based workbook.
